For Colored Girls
Mediocre but worthy for its overall message
Yes, used once...
The book’s theme is not lightweight and the film stays true to those serious adult issues/subjects (don’t try to sneak the kids in); a lot of hurt and unresolved issues that need healing from deep within for many Black women in America (stemming from centuries of enslavement and up through today); and the film’s acknowledgement of the necessity to take responsibility for one’s actions/decisions helps brighten the heaviness of this film.
