Imagery & Its Power!

Imagery & Its Power is a BN-W/Educate-Empower presentation about the original use of the N-word in its historical context using visuals, DVDs, and a PowerPoint presentation to engage youth and adults in an open, honest, and historically revealing interactive discussion.

The purpose of this effective presentation is to critically analyze history, propaganda, media manipulation, and past/present-day caricatures in understanding some of the reasons for the self-hate, the continuous distrust of too many amongst one another, and the willingness for too many to so easily kill or seriously harm.

Imagery & Its Power ultimately sparks critical thinking skills in individuals by having a candid discussion about the “taboo” topics that not many want to converse or read about in our communities.   Many of us are hurting – but don’t know or realize it – from centuries of unresolved injustices that has lingered for generations and this powerful presentation puts the past in perspective so we can start the healing process through obtaining an understanding of the effects of “imagery and its power” that perpetuates today through not only news, but film/movies, music, video, song, and dance.
